Fieldfisher advises Hopkins Architects on its transition to employee ownership

Locations

United Kingdom

Fieldfisher advised leading architects firm Hopkins Architects on its transition to 100% employee ownership.

Originally established by Sir Michael Hopkins and Lady Patricia Hopkins in 1976, Hopkins Architects was formed as a limited liability partnership, a common model for architects practices.  In order to facilitate the transition to employee ownership, the Hopkins Architect's business needed first to be transferred into a newly formed limited company, whose shares were then sold to the employee ownership trust. Detailed work was carried out between December 2018 and July 2019 to develop this exciting new employee owned business, which also enables the key stakeholders to eventually transition from the business and create solid foundations for the future.

Corporate partner Neil Palmer led the team supported by Tax & Equity Incentives senior associate Tamsin Nicholds and associate Jessie Abrahamson-Flynn.
