The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2014 has now been published. From 6 April 2014, the limit on the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will increase from £74,200 to £76,574 The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2014 has now been published. From 6 April 2014, the limit on the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will increase from £74,200 to £76,574 (although don't forget that, since 29 July 2013, there has been a cap on the unfair dismissal compensatory award of the lower of 52 weeks’ pay and the upper statutory limit).

The limit on the maximum amount of a week’s pay (used to calculate, for example, statutory redundancy pay or the basic award for unfair dismissal), will also increase from 6 April 2014 from £450 to £464.

The increases made by this Order reflect the increase in the retail prices index of 3.2% from September 2012 to September 2013.
