A combined team of experts from Fieldfisher and Fieldfisher Consulting has been appointed by the Institute of Food Research (IFR) following a competitive tender.
The IFR is a specialist research institute that focuses on the underlying science of food and health, looking to address the global challenges of food security, diet and health, healthy ageing and food waste. The Fieldfisher and Fieldfisher Consulting team comprises of lawyers from across regulatory, corporate and intellectual property, as well as business consultants.
The team will work with the IFR to establish a new venture business to develop and commercialise a range of enhanced food products with proven health benefits. The first will be an enhanced form of broccoli that may help to reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases, for example Type II diabetes.
