Fieldfisher adds Middle East expert to Dispute Resolution practice

European law firm Fieldfisher has hired a new partner in its Dispute Resolution group with the appointment of Vivien Davies, who joins from Edwin Coe on 7th December.

A fluent Arabic speaker, Vivien is a board director and member of the executive committee of the Arab Bankers Association. Her particular focus is in banking disputes and banking securities litigation but Vivien has expertise across commercial litigation, including in company and shareholder disputes, international arbitration, insolvency proceedings and professional negligence, as well as EU and international sanctions. In addition Vivien is frequently involved in complex cross-border disputes and alternative dispute resolution.

Vivien said: "Fieldfisher is a leading firm with the international reach that will enable me to present credible offerings to existing clients, contacts and targets, while its full-service offering will allow for strong cross-selling opportunities. I am delighted to be joining such a forward-thinking firm."

Colin Gibson, head of Fieldfisher's Dispute Resolution group, said: "Vivien is immersed in the business world of the Middle East and North Africa. With her strong contacts book and experience, not to mention her work with the Arab Bankers Association and her fluent Arabic, we are certain that she will be a great asset to our already-strong Middle East group."

Michael Chissick, Fieldfisher managing partner, said: "The firm's Dispute Resolution group is experiencing fantastic growth and has contributed to a very strong half year for the firm. Vivien will be a fantastic addition to the team, as well as to our Middle East offering."
