Fieldfisher opens in Frankfurt

The Frankfurt office opened today and will focus initially on the financial services sector with special regard to digital business models in the finance industry. Clients include global banks already in and also locating to Frankfurt.

The initial team consists of partner Rüdiger Litten, two further finance and corporate attorneys and one assistant. Litten (50) is a renowned debt capital markets and finance regulatory lawyer and joined Norton Rose in 2001 as a German founding partner.  He has 20 years of experience as a finance lawyer, especially in debt capital markets, structured finance, trust and agency and OTC derivatives and financial regulation. His client base includes leading German and international financial institutions and corporates. He has been assisting several banks in entering the Frankfurt regulatory environment.

Current Norton Rose Fulbright Of Counsel Thilo Danz has also joined as a partner.  With more than 15 years' experience as a finance lawyer, he advises international banks, investment funds and other financial and investment service providers, with a particular focus on regulatory and compliance matters. Kai Krüger is a corporate lawyer and will also join from Norton Rose Fulbright as a partner. He specialises in M&A and project finance transactions, in particular relating to renewable energy projects.

Fieldfisher Germany has offices in Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Munich and has had three consecutive years of strong and profitable growth.

In its financial year to the end of April 2017, Fieldfisher posted a 34 per cent increase in turnover to £165m and an increase in profit per equity partner of 16 per cent. It also opened six new offices with one in Birmingham and five in Italy. It's most recent new office was in Amsterdam on 1st May 2017.  Last year it hired a record number of 23 lateral partners.
