Fieldfisher Hedge Funds team debuts in Legal 500 rankings at Tier 2

Fieldfisher's hedge funds practice, which gives comprehensive advice to hedge funds of all sizes, their managers and investors and to individuals or teams wishing to start their own fund management business, debuts in Tier 2 of the 2021 Legal 500 guide.

The ranking recognises Fieldfisher as having one of the top hedge fund specialist practices in London just 19 months after its formal launch. The practice is led by Ron Feldman and James Tinworth.

The Legal 500 entry captures the practice's focus on the core service of funds, derivatives and financial services regulation, and notes its ability to call on the firm's wider departments for full-service advice on tax, corporate and restructuring matters. It also notes the practice's ability to cater for start-ups and smaller managers, as well as established institutional managers.

Ron, a buy-side expert in derivatives and structured finance transactions, prime brokerage, securities financing transactions and asset custody arrangements, and James, a funds specialist who also provides financial services regulatory advice are, understandably, delighted with the ranking.

Commenting on the news, James said: "We are so proud to receive this recognition just 19 months after the practice was formally launched. The ranking is a testament to our focus, our client list, our experience and our breadth of offering.

"We are very grateful to our clients, whose positive feedback forms such an important part of the rankings process. We have big plans for our alternative investment funds practice for 2021 and look forward to carrying on our upwards trajectory."

Ron added: "The firm's ranking after 19 months of operation is a tribute to the skill, effort and dedication of the team and to our resolve to provide a client focused legal service. It is also a reciprocal recognition from our clients of the same for which we are grateful for and immensely proud of."
