Fieldfisher has appointed Peter Sellar as a Partner in its EU Regulatory law team

18/04/2019

Peter joins the firm's Brussels office from the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg where he was a Référendaire in the cabinet of Advocate-General Sharpston.

Prior to moving to Luxembourg in May 2018, Peter spent four years at Axiom Associates in Edinburgh where he was an advocate specialising in EU law.  He called to the Scottish bar after two years as Head of Competition and Regulatory – Insurance at Lloyds Banking Group, also in Edinburgh.

Peter previously worked for Fieldfisher for three years up until December 2010, also then as a member of the EU Regulatory practice.  He was Of Counsel advising on EU free movement of goods (including chemicals, biocides, pesticides and fuel additives), and on litigation before European Courts, national courts and agencies.

In his new role as Partner, Peter will lead on litigation before the European Courts and advise clients on compliance with EU regulatory, competition and trade law, including task forces set up within the framework of chemical (REACH), biocides and pesticides legislation.

Commenting on the appointment, Fieldfisher EU Regulatory partner Koen Van Maldegem said: "We are delighted to welcome Peter back to Fieldfisher.  A brilliant litigator, Peter brings more than 20 years' experience in EU regulatory and competition law, working both in the UK and in Luxembourg. This will bring valuable regulatory law insights which will have the potential to benefit all of our clients.  Fieldfisher has grown considerably since Peter left with new offices across Europe and we all look forward to working with him again."
