Partial relief from SDLT confirmed where charity is joint purchaser of land

The Court of Appeal has confirmed, in the case of The Pollen Estates & Kings College London v Commissioners for HMRC, that where a charity purchases land jointly with another person, relief from SDLT is due on the proportion of the land purchased by the charity.
