Fifth cycling death in last nine days - can it be considered safe to cycle in London?

Mark Bowman
14/11/2013
Terrible news this morning as police confirm a fifth cyclist has died on London's streets in the early hours of this morning after colliding with a bus near Aldgate East station.
Mark Bowman, Partner in our Personal Injury team, commented: "London's roads can no longer be deemed safe for cycling. 5 deaths in a year, let alone 9 days, is an unacceptable statistic. More needs to be done to improve London's infrastructure to make the roads safer for cyclists, and in educating ALL road users as to how to proceed safely. Sadly, I have little doubt that I will be reading further similar stories over the coming weeks."
