We have previously criticised the paucity of the government's compensation scheme for victims of violence, CICA, which the government has recently announced will be overhauled.

At the end of the inquest, Jill Greenfield spoke on Sky News, BBC Vanessa Feltz and BBC News at 10 about the importance of providing financial support to victims of the attack to prevent terrorism adding economic injury to the physical and emotional damage it wreaks.
She also highlighted the importance of foreign victims who have returned home understanding that they can still claim against the insurers of the vehicle driven by Masood. Several were previously given wrong information by their embassies.
