Draft London Cycling Design Standards – give your views

Transport for London have published draft London Cycling Design Standards which can be viewed on their website - there is also a survey available for interested parties to add their views. The standards are there to try and create a London-wide infrastructure which will make London's streets safer for cyclists and to attract more cyclists back out there. The standards include using a Cycling Level of Service tool so that streets and junctions can be scored in terms of their cyclability so that it is easy to see where improvements are required.

The big drawback of these standards is that they would not be legally binding and so would mean that the Mayor would have to use his authority. We hope that this position changes and that the standards become enforceable.
