London Cycling Campaign are organising an event this Saturday (May 17th) in Central London to send a message to politicians that measures are still required to make London's streets safer to cycle on. The LCC is using the event to promote road features such as protected cycle lanes on busy roads and introducing 20mph speed limits. These issues are becoming more and more pressing with the tragic news this week of the death of another cyclist at Elephant and Castle.

The event is part of a nationwide campaign and similar rides are being planned in other major cities across the UK. London cyclists are set to start congregating at 11am on Park Lane in time for a midday start this Saturday. 10.000 riders attended the last event two years ago and London Cycling Campaign are expecting as many this weekend.
