Another cyclist dies in collision with left turning lorry

Today's newspapers report that another cyclist has died following a collision with a left turning lorry on London's streets. The accident, which occurred at Ludgate Circus this morning involved a large waste truck turning left at the junction of Fleet Street and Farringdon Street. 57 cyclists have now died on London's streets since 2010 More needs to be done to ensure the safety of cyclists in London, especially at junctions, where the majority of accidents occur. The Evening Standard today reports that Camden will soon be home to the first segregated cycle junction, which will use a raised kerb and independent traffic lights to both protect and separate cyclists from vehicles that are turning left, but such junctions should be seen as only part of the solution.
