My experience includes representing a multinational contractor on multiple disputes against a state-owned entity and subcontractors in relation to one of the world’s largest coal-fired power stations. I have also represented an Italian joint venture in their dispute against the Botswana government in the preliminary stages of an ICC Arbitration in regard to the Okavango Bridge project. I have been involved in several disputes which relate to significant infrastructure projects in South Africa, including the tallest building in Africa and Africa’s largest shopping complex. My experience includes advising contractors on claims for variations and extensions of time and expense and loss, though I also have acted on claims involving defects. I have assisted a multinational contractor in review proceedings and forensic investigations which included cooperating with applicable regulators and law enforcement agencies in South Africa and abroad.

My corporate and transactional experience includes advising one of the world’s largest lithium producers on their acquisition of a lithium mine in Zimbabwe. In addition, I also have experience in advising an international technology and manufacturing company in restructuring their business offering in Africa. Lastly, I have acted for a major FM contractor on all variations required within its portfolio of nine PFI projects including a number of schools, colleges and academies.

I am passionate about construction and engineering and have a keen interest in renewable energy and mining projects.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher mid-2022, I worked as a trainee and lawyer designate in the Johannesburg office of an international construction law firm headquartered in London.
