I specialise in acting for main contractors and employers on disputes and projects across the full range of standard form and bespoke contracts. I have extensive experience of adjudication on a wide range of disputes from defects claims, payment notices and final account disputes to the performance of renewable energy plants.
I am also experienced in leading high-value litigation in the Technology and Construction Court, arbitration and all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution and am an advocate of structured mediation to resolve complex construction disputes.
My non-contentious experience includes particular specialism in some of the UK's highest-value and most complex infrastructure projects.
I have gained considerable commercial benefit from time spent on secondment in-house with contractor clients, experience which allows me to understand an instruction from the client's perspective.
My recent transactional experience includes advising on the construction aspects on nuclear power plants and some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects including Crossrail, HS2, IFA2 and the Programme and Project Partners initiative at Sellafield.
I contribute regularly to industry publications including Construction Manager and the JCT Newsletter.
I am consistently commended for my expertise in both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners and am recognised as a "Future Leader" by Who's Who Legal: Construction 2020.
Having played semi-professional football before my legal career, in my spare time I still enjoy watching and playing football (although only at a social level).
I am a keen but pretty poor golfer and spend the rest of my time with my wife and young family.
