Fieldfisher promotes eight lawyers to its partnership

European law firm Fieldfisher has promoted eight lawyers to its partnership in the 2023 partner promotions round. The promotions will be effective 1 May 2023.

The promotions are in the firm's Düsseldorf, London, Manchester and Paris offices and cover a number of Fieldfisher's specialist areas including Dispute Resolution, Corporate, and Restructuring and Insolvency.
The partners are:

Adam Hattersley – Manchester, Real Estate Finance

Adam specialises in short term finance acting for a wide variety of lending institutions and bridging finance providers.  With a wealth of experience in complex property transactions involving corporate borrowers, trusts, off-shore vehicles and technical issues, Adam has developed a reputation for his commerciality, efficiency and technical knowledge.  

Leif Herzog – Düsseldorf, Corporate

Leif is a corporate/M&A lawyer specialising in M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions. His focus is on domestic and cross-border transactions, joint ventures and the entire spectrum of venture capital from financing rounds through exits, in particular in the technology, chemical, healthcare and automotive sectors, where he advises strategic investors, institutional funds, start-ups and private clients.

Tommy McKenna – London, IP Enforcement and Litigation

Tommy's practice covers the full range of intellectual property rights: whilst Tommy most frequently advises on and litigates patent disputes, he has extensive experience in disputes relating to copyright, trade secret / misuse of confidential information and contractual disputes relating to highly technical subject matter. Having graduated with a BEng in Electronic Engineering, much of Tommy’s work is focused on high-tech sectors, including mechanical engineering, electronics, emerging technologies and medical devices. Tommy also has a particular interest in the renewable energy and clean-tech sectors.

Lucile Meriguet – Paris, Restructuring/Commercial Litigation

Lucile advises on multidisciplinary civil pre-litigation and litigation cases (tort and contractual liability) and commercial disputes between companies and/or individuals, corporate law disputes (post-acquisition of companies, shareholders' disputes, disputes between shareholders and managers, managers' liability), disputes related to distressed LBO transactions, as well as insolvency proceedings and amicable settlement of companies' difficulties.

Hannah Piper – London, Dispute Resolution

Hannah's broad commercial litigation experience covers the banking and finance, manufacturing, media, tech and retail sectors. She advises on complex contractual disputes, shareholder disputes and finance related claims and acts in matters involving breach of duty issues, negligence and/or fraudulent conduct.  

Carly Schiff – London, Restructuring and Insolvency

Carly is an experienced insolvency lawyer and key member of the Insolvency and Restructuring team. Her experience covers the full range of insolvency work, from trading insolvencies to multinational multimillion-pound claims. Carly is highly regarded by both clients and peers, known for being technically strong and offering commercial, practical advice.

John Smith – Manchester, Real Estate Finance

John has a wealth of experience specialising in property finance acting for a number of specialist lending institutions and bridging finance providers on residential, commercial and mixed use assets. He is often engaged on complex transactions, with specific focus on development finance and multi-property portfolios. John aims to understand and anticipate his clients' requirements and to develop and maintain those relationships. He adopts a commercial and pragmatic stance on transactions, giving sensible advice on complex matters.

Kirsten Whitfield – London, Data and Privacy

Kirsten is a privacy specialist and has advised clients across many sectors on all things privacy-related for 25 years. Her background in IT contracting has given her the opportunity to combine her interests in technology, data, and privacy on many interesting projects.  These range from data analytics projects of national importance to launch of apps by tech start-ups with great ideas. She is also a cyber-breach specialist.
