My main areas of practice
One focus is on advising on the special requirements in the area of (online) marketing as well as on the link between life sciences and data protection, as there are a number of complex questions regarding the collection and use of sensitive data. I also provide comprehensive advice on all issues of employee data protection.

The core of my work is also advising on international data transfers. In this context, I advise start-ups as well as globally operating corporations on legal questions of Data Protection Law in connection with the legally permissible design of regulatory practice. Finally, there is an increasing need for advice with regard to regulatory proceedings, in which I am involved at both the German and international level.

As companies have to comply with regulatory requirements across all sectors, I advise clients from almost all sectors. The focus is on understanding the business model and commercial interests.

I advise our clients in German and English.

Publications
Among others, I have published:

  • EU Commission: Soon an EU-wide ancillary copyright for publishers?, MMR 12/2016, Editorial, pp. 785-786 (with Martin Gericke)
  • "Anonymization: Silver bullet or just a (not quite) modern fairy tale?, Privacy Laws & Business International Report, December 2020, p. 24-26 (with Katharina A. Weimer)
  • regular contributions to German trade publications, such as "e-commerce magazine" and "Digital Business"

My background
I completed my studies at the University of Hamburg with a focus on "Information and Communication". I then completed my legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Schleswig.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher, I gained several years of valuable experience in a specialised consulting firm, where I advised companies and international groups from various industries on all topics of Data Protection Law and related legal fields.
