As a trainee solicitor, I gained valuable experience in significant IP cases, as part of the team representing clients in complex High Court litigation, including:
- Acting for Getty Images in a claim concerning infringement of copyright, trade marks, and other soft IP rights arising from the use of generative AI (IL-2023-000007)
- Acting for Oh Polly Ltd in proceedings against Shein for infringement of design rights (IL-2024-000091)

The AGA saga: Court of Appeal turns up the heat

The Court of Appeal in AGA Rangemaster Group Ltd v UK Innovations Group Ltd & McGinley [2025] EWCA Civ 1622 dismissed UK Innovations' appeal on the finding of trade mark infringement and also dismissed AGA's cross-appeal on copyright infringement. In an unusual turn of events, Birss LJ and Arnold LJ split the claims, with Birss LJ leading on trade mark infringement and Arnold LJ on copyright infringement.
