Ranjit Dhindsa, Birmingham Office Leader for European law firm, Fieldfisher, has been named in The Lawyer’s official ‘Hot 100’ list for 2024.

The annual list recognises 100 “lawyers of the moment” from across the UK market, who are seen to be shaping the profession today. Judged on excellence and relevance, those included on the list are celebrated for the outstanding quality of their work and the impact they have made within the market over the past 12 months.

Ranjit’s inclusion on the list follows her appointment as leader for Fieldfisher’s Birmingham office in 2023, where she is spearheading an ambitious growth strategy for the firm across the Midlands region. Known for its outstanding business transformation and specialist litigation services, the Birmingham office recorded a 12 per cent revenue increase for 2022/23, contributing to the wider firm’s 11 per cent revenue growth on the previous year.

The Lawyer noted: “Dhindsa gets involved in everything from office   launches, improving collaboration and shaping strategy, to supporting clients on their inclusion and diversity efforts and maintaining her fee-earning practice.

“On her mind next year will be Birmingham’s own growth story. Dhindsa has seen the office transition from a regional shop to one with global ambitions. With the office now housing around 75 people, Dhindsa is hoping to double its headcount within the next five years.”

A member of Fieldfisher's Executive Committee since 2018, Ranjit also leads the firm’s practice as UK Head of Employment, Pensions, Immigration and Compliance (EPIC). Coordinating the Inclusion, Diversity and Culture (IDC) team, which brings together lawyers from different practices to provide a holistic service to organisations, Ranjit supports Fieldfisher’s clients and contacts to foster diversity of thought and build an inclusive workplace culture.

She is a long-term Special Advisor to Birmingham social impact business, Miss Macaroon, and has recently been appointed as an Ambassador by Women on Boards.

Commenting on the recognition, Ranjit said: “It is an honour to be included in this list, which features a broad spectrum of lawyers, each of whom are making an incredible impact in their own right.

“Looking to the year ahead, I remain committed to driving Fieldfisher’s growth across the Midlands, UK and Europe with the support of a technically excellent team, who are delivering quality results for high-profile clients. I will continue to champion the values of IDC, and look forward to fostering further collaboration with business leaders in the city, and beyond.”

Congratulations to Ranjit on this very well-deserved achievement.
