The European law firm has been chosen as the UK arm of Concilium Global Compliance, a new international alliance of law firms and lawyers offering cross-border representation in matters involving corporate compliance, internal investigations and government enforcement defense. A new international alliance of law firms and lawyers called Concilium Global Compliance, Investigations & Defense Network officially launched this week, offering cross-border representation in matters involving corporate compliance, internal investigations and government enforcement defense.

With increasingly common cross-border investigations and government enforcement actions around the world, Concilium Network fills a crucial need for multinational businesses to find counsel qualified to provide seamless representation across national boundaries.

Concilium Network currently counts 15 international law firms as members and intends to expand to other jurisdictions, subject to its careful and extensive firm-vetting process.

The firms currently part of the Concilium Network include:

  • Advokatfirmaet Selmer (Norway)
  • Blake, Cassels & Graydon (Canada)
  • Creel Garcia-Cuéllar Aiza y Enriquez (Mexico)
  • FieldFisher (UK)
  • FeldensMadruga (Brazil)
  • Foley & Lardner (U.S.A.)
  • J. Chan, Yip, So & Partners (China)
  • Kammeradvokaten / Poul Schmith (Denmark)
  • Navacelle Law (France)
  • Panag & Babu (India)
  • Posse Herrera Ruiz (Colombia)
  • Preda Del Puerto & Asociados (Paraguay)
  • Raczkowski Paruch (Poland)
  • Schellenberg Wittmer (Switzerland)
  • SvS Rechtsanwälte (Germany)

Through this alliance, clients will have access to counsel when facing compliance and government enforcement issues internationally.

Most clients will access the Network through a preexisting relationship with their native country’s member or through a referral, but any party in need of such representation can find the Network through its website, www.conciliumglobal.net.
Kyle Phillips, director of corporate and financial crime, said:

"Fieldfisher is proud and excited to be part of this initiative, for which there was a clear need within the global legal community.

"The world has never been smaller from a law enforcement perspective and it is important that legal professionals help serve the interests of international justice by cooperating with like-minded colleagues across borders."

Foley partner David Simon, one of the founding members of the Concilium Network, said:

We are delighted to be in a position to offer clients access to this impressive group of experienced, talented, English-speaking, client service-oriented compliance, investigations, and defense lawyers."

We live in a truly global enforcement environment, and our multinational clients are demanding global solutions. This Network allows us to meet that demand.”
