Neil Cahill

I specialise in commercial dispute resolution acting for individuals, national and multi-national companies in respect of shareholder disputes, construction, complex fraud and distribution agreements in the financial services, life sciences and technology sectors.  I have acted for both insurers and companies in commercial litigation matters in respect of damage to their property on foot of negligence, breach of contract and statutory schemes.  I have expertise in dealing with large business interruption claims for clients in many sectors including renewable energy and technology.

I represent clients in the High Court, Court of Appeal, and in mediations and arbitrations. I also have experience of alternative legal services models and am familiar with the processes around eDiscovery and electronic disclosure in large commercial matters. 
 
I act for both major insurers and self-insured's in defending personal injury claims.  I have significant experience in acting in catastrophic injury cases and running volume claims.  I have represented clients in claims arising from road traffic accidents, employer's liability, public liability, product liability and travel claims. I have experience of dealing with periodical payment orders and the arbitration of disputes on policy cover.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher Ireland LLP I was a Partner in a large commercial law firm in Belfast specialising in insurance litigation and subsequently headed up a regional disputes team for a global firm in the Alternative Legal Services space.

I am admitted to the roll of solicitors in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
