I am a results’ driven client focused lawyer, and always seek to deliver excellence, commitment and innovation to my clients. I am recognised by peers and industry to consistently deliver outstanding legal services to my clients.
My approach is to be assertive, always fair and to deliver commercially focused advice. I set the highest of professional and personal standards, which I deliver through active listening, excellent communication, positivity and a demand for excellence. This demonstrates my leadership, strong emotional intelligence and empathy.
My core areas of specialism are in the field of construction & complex real estate disputes, but I remain at heart a commercial litigator. I have over 30 year’s experience and up to recently held the role as head of the Projects and Construction Disputes in another Dublin based International law firm. My projects and construction experience extends into the wider real estate, energy and infrastructure areas, where I regularly work with our contentious and non-contentious lawyers. I regularly advise clients cross the entire Projects and construction supply chain, from funders, developers, contractors/sub-contractors to designers in complex disputes, involving ad hoc and all industry standard contracts, in particular, RIAI, JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and EI (as amended). My expertise extends to advising on potentially contentious matters involving as diverse issues as collateral warranties, JV and development agreements, construction bonds, framework agreements, employment arrangements, sub-contractor arrangements, and professional consultancy services agreements, and on all issues relating to disputes relating to large scale developments. On occasion these disputes extend to Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, environmental, planning and related judicial review applications.
I also frequently advise upon complex landlord and tenant issues including on dilapidation claims. I also have a number of clients in the medical device sector and advise on wider commercial disputes relating to contractual arrangements.
The disputes in which I advise are diverse, involving Courts, Arbitration, Expert Determinations, Conciliations, Mediations and Adjudications.
I am an accredited CEDR mediator since 2003, with a reputation as a market leader in Ireland. I bring passion, dynamism, fairness and innovation when acting as mediator. I am recognised as one of the most senior ADR practitioners in Ireland.
