I specialise in public and regulatory law, primarily advising statutory bodies operating in highly regulated sectors. I have a particular interest in healthcare and food regulation as well as the regulation of legal services.

I work with a diverse array of Irish statutory bodies responsible for the regulation of healthcare, legal, and building and construction professionals. My work with regulatory clients includes investigating and presenting complaints to Fitness to Practise Committees, appearing before regulatory boards and councils, and advising on the exercise of statutory functions and regulatory best practice. I have also provided advice to corporate clients in respect of commercial transactions with a regulatory dimension.

I have lectured to nutrition students in the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Sciences on food law and I am completing an MSc in Food Regulatory Affairs. I am a co-author of the regulation chapter of an upcoming textbook entitled Traditional Foods (to be published by Springer). I have revised the regulation section of the upcoming new edition of the Nutrition Society's textbook: Introduction to Nutrition, with Prof. Aideen McKevitt and Cassandra Ellis, and I recently contributed an article to the Elsevier Food Science Online Reference Module on food regulation and enforcement in Ireland.
