Brand Development Team news – new offices in Spain and latest law firm rankings
Expansion into Spain
On 26th September, Fieldfisher formally merged with Spanish law firm JAUSAS.
JAUSAS is a top 30 firm in Spain with over 90 employees including 14 partners and 60 lawyers.
As well as covering key practices such as corporate, competition, life sciences, litigation, tax and employment, JAUSAS also has a highly rated franchise and distribution practice, headed by Jordi Ruiz de Villa and supported by Cristina Ruiz de Alda and Miguel Mejías.
Jordi Ruiz de Villa commented that: "Having recently celebrated our 50th birthday, we are delighted to have merged with Fieldfisher, a top law firm that is spread all over the world. We are very proud of being part of it and I am sure that the merger will revert in an even better service for our current clients and of course the new ones to come".

In the last month or so the major independent legal directories published their new rankings for 2018/2019 and it has been another great year for Fieldfisher's Brand Development Team. Who's Who: Franchise 2018 has listed 4 of our team in London, and 2 of our team in Spain as leading practitioners in franchising law. Chambers & Partners is an independent organisation that has been ranking the best law firms and lawyers since 1990, and now covers 185 jurisdictions throughout the world.
We are again ranked in Band 1 for Franchising in the 2019 edition of the Chambers UK directory. Amongst our franchising practitioners, David Bond is listed in Band 2 and Gordon Drakes is listed as "Up and Coming."
