Professional background

Marie-Léonie Vergnerie has been active in this field for almost 20 years, providing advice, litigation and forensic expertise to international companies, particularly in the waste, chemicals, aeronautics, aerospace, automotive, logistics and renewable energy sectors.

She assists them at all stages of their projects, provides day-to-day support on operational management issues, facilitates relationships with the authorities, and assists with the negotiation and drafting of environmental provisions in M&A and real estate transactions.

She has acquired recognized expertise in waste management and circular economy issues (waste/products, extended producer responsibility schemes, etc.) and in the management of contaminated land (on-site and off-site health risk management, brownfield redevelopment, third party applicants, etc.).

Marie-Léonie is a graduate of the Universities of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne (Master of Private Law, 1997; DEA in Environmental Law, 1998) and the University of London King's College (LLB, 1997). She was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2000.

Before joining Fieldfisher, Marie-Léonie built up a very solid practice over 13 years with the Winston & Strawn Environment team.

She is bilingual in French and English.
