Professional background

I am Head of Fieldfisher's Pensions practice and advise employers large and small, pension scheme trustees, pension product providers and financial institutions.

I help them navigate the complex world of pensions law on day-to-day matters, scheme restructurings, employer financial support, winding up schemes, investment and litigation issues.

Some of my major clients have been trusting me with their pensions legal issues for over 20 years and I am considered to be a leading individual in pensions law.

In November 2023 I took office as the Chair of the Association of Pension Lawyers, having been Chair-Elect since November 2022.  This role is an immense privilege and involves a large amount of liaison with law-makers, regulators and other leading industry bodies.

I work in the energy and natural resources sector for a number of electricity industry pension scheme entities. In the banking and financial services sector I have helped a number of banks develop products for secured lending to executive pension schemes. And in the transport sector I have helped trustees through a number of major pensions projects.

I have a detailed working knowledge of the additional requirements imposed on employers involved in public sector schemes including the Fair Deal and Best Value rules involved in outsourcing and other staff transfers.
