Hamburg, December 3, 2019: A Fieldfisher team led by partner Philipp Stricharz and senior associate Maureen Pitzen advised the Israeli manufacturer of mobile phone vending machines, Cellomat, on its cooperation with ECE, Europe's leading developer and operator of shopping centers. Cellomat develops vending machines that allow customers to rate their smartphones in real time. They can then sell their mobile phone directly at the vending machine and have the price quoted paid out directly from the vending machine in the form of vouchers issued by numerous selected partners. Cellomat's life cycle services also include the environmentally friendly disposal of mobile phones. The contact between Fieldfisher and Cellomat came about through the recommendation of an Israeli data center supplier, whom Fieldfisher has been advising on investments and activities in Germany since 2013. After Cellomat had already installed a number of vending machines in branches of the electrical retailer Saturn, the cooperation with ECE began in November 2019. The first vending machines are located in the Ring-Center II and the Eastgate Center in Berlin. Further locations in ECE centers are already planned.
