Fieldfisher act for ecommerce platform e.fundamentals on £5.3 million investment led by Maven Capital Partners

21/11/2019
The firm's Manchester corporate team assisted the market-leading ecommerce analytics platform on its series B funding round as it targets further international growth. Fieldfisher's Manchester corporate team, led by partner Tom Ward, assisted by associate Adam Jones, advised e.fundamentals on the venture capital investment round, which was led by Maven Capital Partners (one of the UK's most active private equity houses).

The deal also included a follow-on investment from Downing and Scottish Enterprise.

e.fundamentals is a market-leading ecommerce analytics platform that helps many of the world’s largest brand owners improve sales and profit performance of their products on retailers’ and wholesalers’ websites.

The investment gives e.fundamentals, which already operates in 10 countries, the ability to deliver services in more key ecommerce regions globally - including a launch in the US with a version of the e.fundamentals platform tailored to the American market.

The funding builds on an exceptional year for e.fundamentals which has benefitted from a growing roster of clients – including Weetabix, McCain and Twinings - and increasing market interest in the rapidly developing field of AI-powered ecommerce analytics.

John Maltman, Chief Executive at e.fundamentals, commented:

“We’re delighted to have secured the support of Maven Capital alongside long-term partners Downing, Scottish Enterprise and our inspiring private backers.  The investment gives us the financial resources to expand our business internationally. I’m particularly excited about the huge bank of experience and resources our institutional investors bring to the business.”

On Fieldfisher's involvement in the company's growth, John said:

Working with Tom and the team at Fieldfisher is a real pleasure. They are committed, consistently go the extra mile and get it done”.

Tom Ward, Corporate partner at Fieldfisher said:

"It's been great to help e.fundamentals secure this Series B investment and we look forward to John and the team continuing to scale the business in the US and across Europe".
