£5m for City worker who lost leg after being hit by speeding driver

Jenny Buchanan secured what is likely one of the highest settlement awards for a below-the-knee amputee in a personal injury claim.

Her client, Mike, 34, was forced to have his leg amputated after being hit by a speeding car just before Christmas 2017 in north London.

Early intervention and support with a full rehabilitation package alongside Mike's sheer determination provided the tools for Mike to go on to become an extremely adept prosthetic user going on to train for a triathlon and continue to enjoy travel.

Jenny secured £5m for Mike to compensate him for his injury and losses and to fund ongoing physical therapies, and appropriate prosthetics. Alongside suitable accommodation, aids and equipment.

Following settlement, Mike said: "It’s been an emotional few years and I have been very lucky to have had you by my side. You showed exceptional expertise and compassion whilst dealing with me. I probably haven’t been easy to work with at times. .. I am sure you will help so many more clients like me."
