Her client, MA, 34, was forced to have his leg amputated after being hit by a speeding car just before Christmas 2017 in north London.
MA, who was a high-earner in the City, was leaving a friend's house late one evening having discovered a police notice that his car had been hit while parked on the side of the road. While he was recovering his personal items from the car, another car – a rented BMW - with five occupants came speeding around a corner out of control and smashed into him, trapping his leg and dragging him three or four metres along the road. The driver and the passengers then left the car and fled. The driver later pleaded guilty to and was convicted of not providing driver information.
MA was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital where, despite emergency surgery, medics were unable to save his right leg and he underwent a trans-tibial amputation. He instructed Jenny to pursue a personal injury claim against the insurer of the driver on his behalf.
Jenny secured £5m for MA to compensate him for his injury and losses and to fund ongoing physical therapies and appropriate prosthetics.
Following settlement, MA said: "It’s been an emotional few years and I have been very lucky to have had you by my side. You showed exceptional expertise and compassion whilst dealing with me. I probably haven’t been easy to work with at times. ... I am sure you will help so many more clients like me."
