The Hub was one of the recommendations which came out of Professor Ian Hargreaves' review of copyright law in the UK and Richard Hooper's subsequent work on the proposed digital copyright exchange.  The website launched yesterday is only Phase One, though.  The long-term plan is to provide a tool for searching multimedia works, and ultimately a one-stop shop for those wishing to register and licence copyright works.  I spoke to World IP Review about yesterday's news.
