Rafael Sánchez has more than 20 years' experience as a lawyer specialising in the field of Economic and Corporate Criminal Law. In addition, for more than a decade, he has also been advising companies in the areas of Criminal Compliance, Anti-Bribery Systems, Prevention of Money Laundering, Whistleblowing Channels and Internal Investigations.
Throughout his extensive professional career, he has had the opportunity to work in various business sectors such as the pharmaceutical industry, the health and care sector, sports clubs and federations, real estate development and investment, public works and public sector contracting, as well as foundations and associations. He has also advised schools, marinas, logistics and technology companies.
His versatility as a professional has enabled him to advise individuals (SMEs), large national and international companies, and administrative bodies, senior management and middle management in legal defence, legal-criminal advice and regulatory compliance.
In addition to practising as a lawyer, he is a lecturer at various conferences, courses and postgraduate courses given by leading and recognised universities, associations and professional associations in the areas of Procedural Law, Criminal Law, Compliance, Whistleblowing Channels and Internal Investigations. He is also co-author of the book "Guía Básica del Compliance Officer para Pymes", published by Editorial Carena.
He actively participates in different professional associations, being a member of the Criminal Law Section and the Compliance Committee of the Barcelona Bar Association, as well as of CUMPLEN Association of Compliance Professionals. He is also former president of COMPCAT Catalan Compliance Association and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of RED FLAG Association of Experts in Whistleblowing Channels and Whistleblower Protection.
