Professional background

Prior to joining Fieldfisher I was a Partner at Clarke Willmott LLP.  I have over 20 years’ experience of advising Employers and high net worth individuals on a wide range of employment law matters, including advising on strategic exits, complex tribunal claims and appeals, and advising on the largest outsourcing from the public to the private sector. 

I am a trustee of a prevention of homeless charity in South Birmingham, and I also sit part-time as an Employment Judge.

The advent of new Employment rights and obligations: The Employment Rights Act 2025

The Employment Rights Bill has today been granted Royal Assent.  It represents the most significant overhaul of UK employment law in a generation. Its phased implementation from 2026 through 2027 will introduce sweeping changes to employee rights, employer obligations, and workplace culture. A government roadmap published on 1 July 2025 sets out the delivery phases.

The Netherlands' Approach to the Pay Transparency Directive: absence of worker representatives

The Pay Transparency Directive mandates that member states implement measures to promote transparency around wage structures and practices, with requirements due to become law by 6 June 2026.  So far, we have had proposals (to differing degrees) from Sweden, Belgium, Ireland and Poland, and last week the Netherlands published its draft legislation to transpose the Directive.
