I'm a highly experienced business and IT consultant with a successful track record stretching back over 25 years. I was a consulting Partner in Deloitte, specialising in advising public and private sector bodies on the structure and procurement of outsourcing solutions and the rescue of underperforming IT projects and programmes. My public sector clients included the BBC, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), the Ministry of Defence, the Department for Health and the then Lord Chancellor’s Department. He also led Deloitte Consulting's UK and European Programme Management practice for 3 years. I then founded Serco’s management consultancy business, leading it to the Chairman’s award for outstanding business performance in only its second year of operation.

I've also had experience of operating large service businesses both as a business unit director in Fujitsu Services and as Chief Operating Officer of Tribal Group plc. At Fujitsu, I was tasked with the successful delivery of major outsourced services for clients such as the Department for Business, the DVLA and the Northern Ireland Civil Service; and IT and supporting Services for the Department of Work and Pensions and the Research Councils Shared Services Centres. At Tribal Group, I was a member of the Group’s Executive Team and also had responsibility for the consulting Business Stream which consisted of a number of diverse acquisitions and start-up businesses and over 300 staff. He also had responsibility across the Group for professionalising and transforming sales, account management and knowledge services (the “Good to Great” programme) as well as spearheading the strategy for Tribal’s International Business Development and building market presence in the Health and Local Government markets.

I have a strong interest and track record in improving the performance of outsourcing contracts and rescuing troubled IT projects. In this capacity I have worked for a number of Government Departments and Agencies, telecom and media providers and for private sector IT and FM service businesses.
I'm also an experienced non-executive director and i've just completed my six year term of office at the Centre for Environmental, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), an Executive Agency of Defra and a thriving business with a turnover of over £50m. Latterly I chaired the Audit and Risk Committee and provided specialised advice in the areas of business development, account management, IT strategy and risk management.

Most recently, I've concentrated on the successful commercial and technical turnaround of complex IT enabled transformation programmes. He has recently acted as the interim CIO of a large Government Executive Agency and also advising another Executive Agency on its IT provision.
