I specialise in health, environmental, and energy matters. I have experience working at the European Institutions and at law firms in both Brussels and Thessaloniki, Greece.
Representative work includes advising:
- A leading multinational tobacco company on the placement of tobacco and related products on the EU market.
- International crop protection and medtech clients on regulatory and compliance matters related to market access.
- Leading project development companies on the implementation of grant agreements related to, inter alia, innovative technologies.
- Leading project development companies on strategic transactions, such as RES project development (in protected areas).
My litigation experience before the Greek courts includes energy matters, public procurement, and staff cases. Before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), I have handled staff cases and issues related to grant agreements.
Before joining Fieldfisher, I worked as a Senior Associate at a reputable boutique law firm in Brussels (Pappas and Associates). Prior to moving to the private sector, I worked at the Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER; Buildings and Products) of the European Commission, at the European Research Executive Agency (REA; Future Low Emission Industries), and at the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (Clean Hydrogen Partnership).
In these last three roles, I focused on the energy efficiency of buildings (infringement procedures), EU funding of green energy projects aimed at the decarbonisation of the coal and steel industries (grants), and EU funding of clean hydrogen projects (grants and public procurement), respectively. Before moving to Brussels, I worked at Anastassios Gakidis and Associates law firm in Thessaloniki, Greece.
I am a member of the GEF - Greek Energy Forum - Ελληνικό Ενεργειακό Φόρουμ - an international, dynamic non-for-profit organisation, comprising a diverse group of energy professionals and academics that share a common interest and passion for the broader energy, shipping and hydrocarbons industries in Greece and Southeastern Europe.
I hold an LL.M. in Energy Law from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, UK.
I am a qualified lawyer and a member of the Thessaloniki and Brussels Bar.
I am a native Greek speaker, fluent in English, with limited knowledge of German and French.
