I have extensive experience in derivatives and a wealth of experience within the investment banking industry.
I have advised on a wide range of derivative products throughout Europe, Hong Kong and Singapore. My most recent experience is within Donaldson Legal Consulting. I provide skilled client-facing services in relation to the negotiation of financial legal documents; ISDA master agreements, commodity agreements, brokerage documentation and NDAs from a NearShore location.
I graduated from Queens University, Belfast in 1991 with an honours degree in law. Upon completing my degree I relocated to England to join my first law firm as a Trainee Solicitor. In 1994 I was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. In 1996 I joined the legal department of Credit Suisse Financial Products as derivatives counsel, and in 1997 relocated to Hong Kong to join Warburg Dillon Read (later UBS), again as derivatives counsel. In October 1998 I joined the legal department of Merrill Lynch, and in 1999 relocated to Singapore as derivatives counsel and Head of Legal for Singapore, subsequently becoming Director and Head of Legal for South East Asia. On my return to the UK in 2003 I was General Counsel to fund manager Cologico Capital LLP before I set up Donaldson Legal Consulting (DLC).
