Network of female leaders holds first annual Leadership Conference
The Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law network was established in April last year, when a group of lawyers met following a conference in Munich. The group identified a clear need not only to support and encourage one another, but to help create and support a pipeline of future female leaders for the life sciences industry.
The one day conference last week saw senior counsel from a range of companies in the sector, including Roche and Bio-Rad, join with a number of consultants and advisers with connections to the life sciences industry to debate key issues.
Alison Dennis, head of the firm's Life Sciences & Healthcare group, said: "The event was a great success, and put us at the heart of what is clearly a subject that many people within the industry are passionate about."
The Women Leaders in Life Sciences Law was founded by Funke Abimbola, Roche UK's general counsel and company secretary, who described the event as "inspiring", further elaborating that "we all left the event feeling empowered and committed to driving the network forward".
