European law firm Fieldfisher has again strengthened its structured finance team with the hire of partner, Dougall Molson, following the recent arrival of partner, Richard Todd, from Mayer Brown. Dougall joins the firm from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he was a partner in the Finance Group and led the Paris Finance team until he moved to London in 2015.
Dougall is a leader in the structured finance field and specialises in complex structured finance, commodity finance and derivatives.
Guy Usher, Head of the Derivatives and Structured Finance Group at Fieldfisher says: "I am delighted that Dougall is joining the firm. He brings a wealth of experience in high-end, complex transactions. His appointment also significantly helps us to provide a broader structured commodities finance offering for our bank and energy trading clients. Having worked in France he also has a good understanding of the intricacies of the French derivatives market which will help develop our Paris office's practice in that area. Finance and Financial Services and Energy and Natural Resources our two of our three key sector focus for the firm and Dougall fits squarely into our strategy for both areas."
Dougall added, "I have been very impressed by the quality of the people at Fieldfisher and by the reputation of the team. I am looking forward to working with Guy and the team in continuing to develop the firm's structured finance practice and working with the energy, mining and banking partners to enhance their commodity finance capabilities."
Dougall joins the firm on Monday 1st May 2017.
