European law firm Fieldfisher has further strengthened its Personal Injury and Medical Negligence team with the addition of partner Jane Weakley.  Jane originally trained at Fieldfisher and now re-joins from Irwin Mitchell.

Jane specialises in acting for claimants with catastrophic birth injuries with a particular emphasis on those with cerebral palsy as a result of medical negligence.

She has acted for clients who have obtained some of the largest awards of their kind, for example in December 2015 she achieved a  £11.56 million settlement for a five-year-old boy with cerebral palsy.

Alongside her work, Jane regularly gives presentations to leading charities such as; Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy (London), the Children's Trust for Children with Brain Injury (Surrey), Chailey Heritage School (East Sussex) and SCOPE (London).  She also advises on best practice in obstetric cases.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul McNeil, Head of Medical Negligence & Personal Injury says: "Jane is coming home, having trained at Fieldfisher, we warmly welcome her back to the team. With over twenty years' experience in medical law she  is a leading practitioner in this complex area of law.  Like all our lawyers, she is dedicated to ensuring that the interests and rights of our clients are maximised and compensation provides enough care and support throughout their lives."
