Fieldfisher has been appointed to the first legal panel of ARM plc, the FTSE 100 semiconductor and software design company.

A team from the firm's Technology, Outsourcing and Privacy (TOP) practice will be one of ARM's primary advisers for technology, outsourcing and privacy issues, following a competitive pitch.

The firm has been working with ARM prior to the company forming a formal panel of advisers, with the team chosen for its pre-eminent expertise in binding corporate rules to help ARM put in place its own data privacy framework to facilitate data flows around the world.

Simon Briskman, partner in Fieldfisher's TOP practice who led the pitch, said: "We have warm relationships with ARM's legal team and were delighted when Philip Davis, their General Counsel, and Struan Britland, who ran the panel process, invited us to pitch. It was a thorough process and allowed us to show our strengths in the technology field. We're delighted to add ARM to a family of clients including Accenture, eBay, Infosys and Pearson, who regularly turn to us for their most complex technology and privacy requirements."

The Fieldfisher team was led by Simon Briskman and Hazel Grant (Privacy).
