Fieldfisher announces sponsorship of paratriathlete and Rio 2016 Paralympics hopeful Andy Lewis.

Fieldfisher has announced today an agreement to sponsor paratriathlete, Andy Lewis. He will hopefully be representing Great Britain at the Paralympics in Rio in September 2016; the first time paratriathlon has been included within the Paralympics.

Andy, 32, lost his leg in a road accident when he was just 16 years old and decided to take up triathlon following the 2012 Paralympics. Last year, he won both the GB paratriathlon championships and the Madrid ITU paratriathlon. This year he finished 4th in the European Championships, 3rd at the Madrid ITU event and 2nd at the Buffalo City ITU event.

Last Saturday Andy competed in the Rio test event on the same course and against many of the same athletes that he will face next year. He finished 3rd. This weekend he is taking part in Para Tri at Dorney Lake before heading to Detroit for the next ITU event on 15th August.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Michael Chissick, Managing Partner at Fieldfisher said:

"We are delighted to be supporting Andy on his journey to the Rio Paralympics 2016.  As a firm we are very excited to be involved.  This sponsorship demonstrates our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion in and out of the workplace.  It is also a great way to inspire the next generation of para-athletes."

In the coming months, Andy will be taking part in a number of events at Fieldfisher and will be wearing a Fieldfisher branded GB tri-suit for his races in the lead up to the Paralympics.
