Fieldfisher acts on carbon 'Pawprint' with sustainability initiative

Fieldfisher has partnered with 'eco companion' tool Pawprint to enable its staff to fight climate change in and out of the office, by tracking and reducing their carbon footprint.

The Pawprint app will play host to a year-long staff challenge, in which Fieldfisher teams will compete to make the biggest net carbon reduction through incremental everyday changes.

The initiative is the latest step by Fieldfisher to expand and embed its ESG strategy in the day-to-day activities of the firm.

Having engaged Planet Mark, a sustainability certification for measuring and reducing the firm's carbon footprint, Fieldfisher is now enabling its people to do the same.

Pawprint works by calculating and encouraging carbon reductions. It helps users identify small behaviour changes they can make to their everyday lives and supports them to convert those daily changes into habits, like reducing meat consumption and buying locally sourced and seasonal food.

Rachael Wild, Sustainability Lead at Fieldfisher, comments:

"The climate emergency requires all of us to make adjustments to our daily lives. The Pawprint app is an innovative tool that encourages our people to make sustained behaviour change.

"As a firm, we are working hard to drive responsible business practices and this app gives our people more ways to be a part of the sustainability movement. Our partnership with Pawprint will further empower our international network to take climate action."

Christian Arno, Pawprint Founder & CEO said:

"Working with an international law firm like Fieldfisher is a great opportunity to grow the impact of Pawprint.

"We have found that professional services, and law firms in particular, have been one of the first sectors to unite employees in tackling climate change. We now hope the leadership shown by Fieldfisher will encourage others to keep up this momentum, utilising Pawprint to support their people in climate action.

By using the app, individuals are able to make small changes over time that, when scaled up, result in life-long sustainable habits. Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time and building strong partnerships like these allows us to address the importance of individual behaviour change as well as drive global collective action."
