Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has advised EMED Mining Public Limited (EMED) in connection with an equity subscription from a Chinese smelter.
The team led by corporate partner Dominic Gurney-Champion, assisted by partners Oliver Abel Smith and Ian Barnard alongside senior associate Brad Isaac and associate Tom Ward, advised long standing client EMED Mining Public Limited in connection with an equity subscription from a Chinese smelter - Yanggu Xiangguang Copper C. Limited (XGC) - of $15 million together with an undertaking to provide or arrange a $15 million cost overrun facility for the restart of operations at EMED's Rio Tinto copper mine in Andalucía, Spain. In addition, Fieldfisher advised on the sale by EMED to XGC of up to 25% of its copper production from the Rio Tinto Mine pursuant to an off-take agreement.
