Fieldfisher will be hosting a panel discussion in the firm's London office with representatives from the Rugby League World Cup, London Sport and Peterborough United FC covering operational challenges in the sports industry.

  Fieldfisher will be hosting a panel discussion and interactive Q&A at its London office on 4 May 2022 to examine operational challenges in the world of sport.

Professional and amateur sport has developed into a major business sector, in the UK and globally, prompting requirements for the sector to be more closely managed, coordinated, and regulated.

The Covid-19 pandemic added further pressures to sports bodies, including the need to ensure the health and wellbeing of players and spectators whilst encouraging the grassroots and professional game to grow.

More recently, the Ukraine conflict has created fresh complications for athletes, sports clubs, and federations.

To discuss the operational challenges facing the sports industry, Fieldfisher has invited a panel of experts comprising:

• Dean Hardman, Tournament Director, Rugby League World Cup;
• Emily Robinson, CEO, London Sport; and
• Leighton Mitchell, Operations Manager, Peterborough United FC.

The panel will be chaired by Fieldfisher dispute resolution lawyer Louis Muncey and will be open to questions and comments from the audience.
