Fieldfisher is currently advising a number of clients who are defending claims brought by Ecology Support Services Limited for recovery of sham loans linked to a fraudulent tax scheme.
Some clients have received Summary Summonses issued out of the High Court in Dublin and others have received Pre-Action Protocol letters threatening Court action. Fieldfisher partner Ian Austin said that as part of the fraudulent scheme, several hundred people unwittingly entered into sham loans and the overriding aim of Fieldfisher is to vigorously defend any attempt to make claims against their clients in relation to those loans.
