Leading planning lawyer, Christopher Stanwell, has today joined the Real Estate practice at Fieldfisher. He joins as partner and Head of Planning, and is based in the firm's London office. He joins Fieldfisher from DAC Beachcroft where he led the Planning and Environment team.
Christopher specialises in a wide range of planning, compulsory purchase, listed buildings, highways and public law matters, with a particular emphasis on mixed-use regeneration, housing, retail and infrastructure projects. He has worked on some of the most significant planning projects in England and Wales and has extensive judicial review experience, which includes hearings in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Fieldfisher's market-leading Real Estate Practice comprises over 130 fee earners working across the firm's UK and European offices, providing comprehensive, sector-leading property expertise. The team has unrivalled experience across sectors including commercial and residential development, infrastructure, investment, property finance, hotels, student housing and leisure and has worked on some of the world's most iconic real estate developments and disputes of the past decade. In 2021 the Real Estate practice advised on deals with a combined value of over £1bn. Clients include Bosch, Kennedy Wilson, Cambridge MediaPark and CBC Estate Management amongst others.

Christopher qualified in 2001 after training at Bircham Dyson Bell. He has a BA in Political Studies 2:1 Hons from the University of Leeds and studied the CPE and LPC at the College of Law.
