The Charity Commission is inviting charities, trustees and charity advisers to attend its next public meeting - either in person in Southampton, or by tuning in to the live-stream.

Anti-advocacy clause to be inserted into Government grant agreements
The Government announces that organisations receiving Government grants will be banned from using these taxpayer funds to lobby Government and Parliament.

Scottish charities urged to get online
Scotland’s charity regulator announces changes to the way it monitors and reviews the country’s 24,000 charities and calls on the remaining 20 per cent of the sector not already signed up for its online services to make sure that they do so in the coming year.

Charity Commission Chair welcomes passage of Charities Bill through House of Commons
William Shawcross says, "yesterday the Charities (Protection and Social Investment) Bill passed its last substantive stage through the Houses of Parliament. This important legislation will give us the powers we need to be more effective, regulating in line with public expectation.
