Shaheen Mosquera welcomes BLF campaign to fund mesothelioma research

The British Lung Foundation, the UK charity 'looking after the nation's lungs', this week released a stark infographic highlighting the lack of funding invested into research into mesothelioma.

Currently, the cancer caused by exposure to asbestos is generally fatal, inflicting misery and heartbreak on families affected. Early discovery and intervention can at least delay symptoms, but more research into a disease that kills 20 tradespeople every week in the UK is urgently needed.

We continue to support clients affected by mesothelioma by fighting for compensation for them and their families. Sadly, mesothelioma deaths are predicted to increase in the next few years as people exposed in the 1950s and 60s fall foul of the disease, which can lie dormant for 30 years.
