Standard Contractual Clauses

The anticipated publication of new standard contractual clauses (SCCs) later this year, will result in the repeal of the current SCCs. An assessment of the economic impacts of the UK being deemed a third country by the EU suggested that the cost to business of putting in place measures such as SCCs to facilitate the flow of personal data between the EU and the UK, could be between £1bn and £1.6bn. The cost to business in the EU, UK and beyond of re-papering all contracts that use the current SCCs will be significantly higher.
