Pablo Franquet is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. He holds an LLM from Duke Law (NC, USA). He specialises in commercial, banking and insurance litigation, as well as appeals before the Supreme Court.
Pablo has extensive experience in defending companies and individuals in sectors as wide-ranging as the securities market, distribution, franchising, construction, commercial services and civil liability. Pablo also represents consumer associations in collective proceedings.
As part of its expertise in complex appeals, its recent achievements include a pioneering decision of the Madrid Supreme Court annulling an arbitration award as contrary to public policy and a leading decision of the Spanish Supreme Court endorsing, for the first time, the use of class actions to claim damages for the sale of securities. The importance of these lawsuits was highlighted in the media.
Chambers Europe has recognised him as a "leading individual" in Litigation in 2024. Since 2016, the Best Lawyers directory has ranked him as one of the leading practitioners in civil litigation in Spain. In addition, one of the leading legal publications described him as a "specialist in complex appeals".
Pablo is a lecturer in Procedural Law at the UIC - Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. He has participated in multiple conferences and has written for different legal publications and national press on issues related to his professional practice. His lectures in the last 12 months have included several dissertations and webinars on litigation before the Spanish Supreme Court.
He regularly conducts workshops at other law firms, universities and public administrations on legal drafting.
