With more than 15 years of experience as an insolvency lawyer, I have been able to participate in significant insolvency proceedings related to multiple sectors of our economy, from an Insolvency Administration perspective, as would be the case with the Promociones Habitat, Don Piso or Proinosa (construction and real estate development) tenders, the Cacaolat (food) tender, in which the sale of the production unit was made at a price that was to the full satisfaction of all creditors or the Grupo ZED tender (technological), but I have also been able to gain extensive experience in advising and representing insolvent companies, being of note the insolvency proceedings for Top Proyectos (previously, TEYCO), in which an agreement was reached with the creditors, as well as representing the Spanair airline in its insolvency proceedings and defending it in the classification that ended with the declaration of the unforeseeable nature (not guilty) of the insolvency proceedings.
I have been appointed as Bankruptcy Administrator by the Commercial Courts of Barcelona and Madrid on more than 35 occasions.
Likewise, I have extensive practice and experience in financial restructuring processes, both advising the financial creditor and representing the company that intends to restructure its debt in a pre-insolvency framework, knowing about said refinancing processes in various sectors such as, for example, renewable energy or retail. In said pre-insolvency scenario, I am familiar with the economic-financial analysis of companies in order to seek, if possible, an alternative solution to liquidation through the mechanism of the creditors’ agreement.
Before joining Fieldfisher, I worked in the restructuring and insolvency departments at Roca Junyent and RCD-DWF.
During this period, I have been able to combine my legal practice with teaching, as a senior lecturer of Commercial - Insolvency Law at the School of Legal Practice of the Bar Association of Barcelona, as well as teaching and being a speaker at insolvency seminars, also participating in the drafting of reference works on insolvency issues.
I currently hold the position of Vice President of the Insolvency Section of the Illustrious Bar Association of Barcelona, where I perform my duties with the clear vocation of service to the bar’s members.
