As a lawyer specialized in restructuring and insolvency with over 18 years of experience, he has participated in significant bankruptcy proceedings across multiple sectors of the economy. His work spans both insolvency administration—handling cases such as Promociones Habitat, Don Piso, and Proinosa (construction and real estate), Cacaolat (food industry), and Grupo ZED (technology)—and advising companies in financial distress to reach payment agreements with their creditors, as in the case of Top Proyectos (formerly TEYCO). Additionally, he has successfully defended the interests of companies and their Boards of Directors in liquidation processes, as in the case of Spanair, where the bankruptcy was classified as fortuitous (non-culpable), thereby exonerating the board members from liability.
He has extensive experience in corporate and financial restructuring processes, advising both financial creditors and companies seeking debt restructuring in pre-insolvency contexts. His expertise covers restructuring in sectors as diverse as renewable energy, metallurgical industry, plastics, and retail.
He has been appointed as Insolvency Administrator by the Commercial Courts of Barcelona, Madrid, and Santander on more than 73 occasions.
Before joining Fieldfisher, he worked in the restructuring and insolvency departments at Roca Junyent and RCD-DWF.
He has complemented his legal practice with teaching, serving as a professor of Commercial and Insolvency Law at the Escola de Práctica Jurídica of the Barcelona Bar Association. He has also provided training, been a speaker at bankruptcy law seminars, and contributed to reference publications on insolvency matters.
